Google Trends has revealed its Year in Search 2021, an annual list of top trending searches in various countries.
Filipino boy band SB19's song "Mapa," K-pop superstars BTS' "Butter," and Netflix series "Squid Game" are among the top searches in Google globally in 2021.
SB19's "Mapa" was placed fifth in the top ten trending song searches globally in 2021, while BTS' "Butter" was ranked seventh.
Squid Game, a South Korean thriller series on Netflix, released on September 17, 2021, ranked ninth among the top ten overall trending searches globally in 2021.
The Korean survival drama also placed first among the top ten trending searches for TV shows in the world and the Philippines.
